The Human Mind

The human mind is the most complex that God has created so far. Some may argue that the DNA is a lot more complex. Then the question is, how come we know the structure of the DNA but we don’t know for sure what is going on in our own minds even though the person thinking those thoughts is yourself. Everything else that we assume to be complex has been researched and studied over the past “God-knows-how-many” years. But what goes on in the mind, even if it is one’s own, is hard to tell.

Have you ever had a feeling that your mind is filled with an entangled web of thoughts? Then you try desperately to disentangle them and pull out one thought at a time but to no avail. After some time, you get tired and distract yourself leaving the entangled thoughts just as they are. You cannot concentrate on whatever it is that you try to put your mind into (it is already preoccupied, remember?).

Why am I writing all this here? It is because I have been going through this phase over the past few days. I know what it feels like. I’ve been there. What I realize now is that the mind is indeed a wonderful thing. Of course it doesn’t rest until tended to. But when you give some time out of your busy schedule to your thoughts, automatically all the irrelevant ones are cast away and the ones that matter most remain, leaving a feeling of neatly combed hair.
